Deep dive podcast
The actual journal entry
2nd day of feeling yucky. Not sure if I’m feeling worse or better but can’t focus and be as productive as usual so going to try to do as much as I can and move other tasks to tomorrow.
Emailed prospective client about AI not only being a tool on a technical level like software but that it can help transform the way decisions are made and strategies are developed… he replied saying he understood. We’re waiting for his colleagues to provide feedback on my initial email.
Bathroom plastic fittings arrived early so testing a gluing process to see if it actually sticks plastic to plastic… not very profound but something that has to be done.
Writing this again whilst soaking in the bath. The warm water helps relieve some of the yuckyness.
Found 19 audio reminders of where we got to on telling part of a story to my daughter every evening when she was younger to put her to sleep. It was about a girl called Emily and a black figure. Just made it up as I went along. Got an idea to turn it into a book quite quickly using AI if we can remember parts of the story.
Dinner soon and hopefully getting on Fortnite later for Daily awareness and focus training, otherwise an early night.
Transcript of deep dive
Male
All right, so today we’re gonna dive into something pretty interesting. It’s like we’re getting a little secret glimpse into someone’s day.
Female
Yeah, like a time capsule almost.
Male
Yeah, exactly. Like just a regular day, you know, not like some big event or anything, but still pretty fascinating when you really look at the details.
Female
Absolutely. And you know what strikes me is how even in the ordinary stuff, we find these universal experiences.
Male
Totally. Like the things we all deal with. Work, family, just trying to find a little downtime.
Female
Exactly. And seeing how this person navigates those things, you know, it can really give us a fresh perspective, even on our own lives.
Male
Yeah, for sure. So just to set the scene a little bit, we’re looking at a journal entry, and right off the bat, the author mentions feeling kind of under the weather.
Female
Ugh, it’s the worst.
Male
Yeah, this is actually the second day they’re feeling this way. So it sounds like it’s kind of lingering.
Female
Makes you wonder what it could be.
Male
Right. Like, is it a cold or something else? They don’t get into specifics, but you can tell it’s affecting them.
Female
Oh, yeah, definitely. You know, and I’m not feeling my best. It’s so hard to focus.
Male
Same here. It’s like everything takes twice as long.
Female
Exactly. And yet this person still manages to get stuff done, which is pretty impressive.
Male
Yeah, they mentioned working on some consulting stuff, and there’s this email exchange about AI that really caught my eye.
Female
Oh, yeah? What’s that about?
Male
So they’re talking about using AI not just, you know, for automating tasks, but for, like, transforming how decisions are made.
Female
Wow.
Male
Yeah. Like, on a strategic level, that’s huge.
Female
I mean, we hear so much about AI these days, but it’s usually about, you know, like, speeding things up or making things more efficient.
Male
Right, exactly.
Female
But this is using AI to actually shape the way businesses think and operate.
Male
Yeah, exactly. It’s like taking it to a whole other level.
Female
I mean, think about the implications for any field, really, if you could have AI helping you analyze information and come up with strategies.
Male
Yeah, it’s pretty mind blowing. Makes you think about all the ways AI could be used that we haven’t even thought of yet.
Female
Absolutely. It’s such a rapidly evolving field.
Male
It is. But then right after this deep dive into AI, the author mentioned something totally different.
Female
What’s that?
Male
Testing glue for bathroom fittings.
Female
Ha ha. That’s a great reality check.
Male
Right? Like, 1 minute you’re talking about transforming businesses with AI, and the next minute you’re making sure the sink doesn’t fall off the wall.
Female
It’s so true, though. Like, life is this crazy mix of the profound and the mundane.
Male
It really is. And you know what else I thought was interesting? They mentioned taking a bath to try and feel better.
Female
Oh, yeah. A bath can be so soothing.
Male
Totally. And then they have this, like, burst of inspiration.
Female
Really? What kind?
Male
So they find these old audio recordings of bedtime stories that they used to tell their daughter. I know, right? And they start thinking about how they could turn those stories into a book. Maybe even with the help of AI.
Female
That’s such a cool idea. It’s like taking something from the past and giving it new life.
Male
Exactly. And it makes me think about all the things we have tucked away in our memories or in boxes somewhere that could be transformed into something amazing.
Female
It’s like a treasure hunt just waiting to happen.
Male
It is. And then to wrap up the day, they talk about having dinner and maybe playing some fortnite at night. Yeah. They actually call it daily awareness and focus training.
Female
I love that.
Male
Right. Like, who knew video games could be so beneficial?
Female
It just goes to show that there are so many different ways to take care of our mental and physical health.
Male
Absolutely. What works for one person might not work for another.
Female
Exactly. The key is to find what helps you recharge and stay focused.
Male
Yeah, for sure. So, you know, even though this is just a glimpse into one person’s day, it really gives you a lot to think about.
Female
It does. It’s a reminder that life is this tapestry of big ideas and small moments, challenges and creative sparks.
Male
Yeah, and it’s about finding that balance, making progress even when we don’t feel our best, and being open to unexpected sources of inspiration.
Female
I think that’s a great takeaway. And, you know, as we go about our own days, it’s worth paying attention to those seemingly insignificant moments.
Male
Yeah, like what might be hiding in plain sight.
Female
Exactly. Those hidden gems that could spark something extraordinary if we just give them a little attention.
Male
Love that.
Female
Me, too.
