24 Oct 24: Shorts, TikTok & Healing

Deep dive podcast

The actual journal entry

Day 3 of feeling yucky. Not sure if I’m getting better but it’s definitely not easy to focus for too long on tasks.

Got Krystal’s Fortnite Youtube short & tiktok videos edited and published though.

Working out whether to buy a documentary about cancer and healing from and preventing it to add to other related material to create a comprehensive course. Keep seeing people pass away and become ill from cancer. Some are totally ignorant about why illness and wellness happens and sticking to allopathic treatments which only work on the symptom, the cancer, and not going deeper to look at causes and how to heal and prevent illness.

Moved a lot of tasks back over the next few days as I can see them being slow until I heal myself from this yucky feeling.

Transcript of deep dive

Male
All right, so today we’re going deep on this really interesting journal entry.

Female
Okay.

Male
This person’s not feeling well at all. You know, under the weather, kind of dragging, but they’re still pushing through work. You know, they’ve got deadlines.

Female
Right.

Male
Editing videos for someone named Crystal.

Female
Wow. Still gotta get it done.

Male
Exactly. But here’s where it gets kind of wild.

Female
Okay.

Male
In the middle of all this feeling sick and pushing through work, they’re also like brainstorming a course on cancer. Oh, wow. That’s healing, prevention, the whole thing.

Female
That’s a lot to have going on.

Male
It really is. It’s like their brain is in two completely different places at the same time.

Female
It makes you wonder about that connection though, right? You’ve got the immediate reality of not feeling well and having to work, and then this simultaneous pull towards something bigger, you know, focused on healing. Yeah.

Male
You’d think focusing on getting better would be enough, but it’s like this experience is fueling a desire to help others going through something similar.

Female
It is interesting, isn’t it? Like they’re seeing this bigger picture even while they’re dealing with their own struggles.

Male
And they’re not just talking about like surface level stuff either.

Female
Right.

Male
They specifically mention wanting to go deeper into the causes and prevention of cancer.

Female
That’s a good point. It suggests they’re not satisfied with just treating symptoms, looking for a more complete understanding.

Male
And that brings us to this term they use, allopathic treatments.

Female
Oh, yeah.

Male
I’m not sure everyone’s familiar with that. So could you break it down for us?

Female
Of course. So allopathic medicine, that’s basically what most people think of as like conventional Western medicine. You know, doctors, hospitals, pharmaceuticals.

Male
Right, the usual.

Female
Exactly. It focuses on treating the disease after it shows up.

Male
Okay, so that’s one side of things.

Female
Yeah.

Male
But we’re getting the sense that our journal writer might be leaning towards something a bit more alternative.

Female
It seems that way. Right, because they’re talking about going deeper into causes and prevention. So maybe they’re thinking about complementary or alternative approaches to healing too. Things like nutrition, mindfulness, maybe even energy healing. Exactly. Modalities that focus on the whole person, not just the disease.

Male
And it seems like that commitment to a broader approach plays out in their decision to push back tasks to focus on healing.

Female
Absolutely.

Male
Like they’re hitting pause on productivity to invest in their well being.

Female
It’s such a crucial point, especially for anyone in creative fields like video editing. I mean, these jobs require so much mental and emotional energy.

Male
So much.

Female
If you’re not feeling well, it’s going to affect your work, you know, big time. Recognizing those limitations and putting self care first, it becomes essential.

Male
It really does.

Female
Yeah.

Male
So we’ve got this glimpse into this person’s life, you know, their struggles, their work ethic, their perspective on health, all tied up with this idea for a course on cancer.

Female
Yeah. It’s really fascinating, and it really gets you thinking about what such a course would even look like, you know, what elements would be crucial for understanding cancer, not just from the medical perspective, but from that holistic healing and prevention standpoint.

Male
That’s something to think about. It really is the big question.

Female
A big question indeed.

Male
Well, thanks for diving into this with me.

Female
My pleasure. Anytime.

Male
And for everyone listening, we’ll catch you next time for another deep dive. See ya.

Female
That’s [it got cut off]
