Whilst developing a publishing site, I thought I would need a list of continents and their respective countries to put in a MySQL database to help locate people who published on the site.
I researched the Internet for a while but could not find a list of continents and respective countries. However a few days ago I was looking at a site for a totally different reason and came across a list of continents and sub-countries by coincidence.
I eventually only used the list of worldwide countries and did not need them separated into continents.
As I had forgotten where I found the list, and instead of discarding it I thought I’d share it here as I’m sure someone may find a use for it.
Please note that the list below seemed to be correct as of early 2010, and if you have a more up to date list then please let me know. Thank you.
The list is follows with the continents appearing in upper case and their respective countries listed below.
