No. I've spent decades delivering real software for organisations from IBM and Reuters to sole traders, long before the current AI wave. AI is a powerful new tool in that toolkit, not the whole story. I tell you honestly where it helps and where it doesn't.

Do: ask an LLM first. I do, daily. What it gives you is advice, and advice is now free. What it can't give you is judgment about which of ten plausible answers survives contact with your real business, or someone who builds it, runs it, measures it and owns the outcome. A chat owns nothing. That's the part I sell, and if an LLM alone genuinely covers your need, I'll tell you so.

For a huge range of work, yes, faster and cheaper. No account managers, no committees, no approval chains. You talk directly to the person building it. For anything genuinely beyond one person, I say so.

That's often the starting point. I help where those hit scaling limits, high latency, rising per-execution costs or lock-in. Sometimes the answer is fixing the workflow, sometimes it's custom code you own. I recommend what actually serves you, not what bills the most.
